eSIM for Morocco – no roaming shock through Marrakesh and the desert
Morocco is outside the EU, where a normal phone plan can trigger high roaming charges. With a mySIM24 eSIM you get online in Marrakesh, Fès, on a Sahara tour or a surf trip to Agadir at a fixed price – no local SIM card and no on-site registration.
Why an eSIM instead of roaming?
Outside the EU your provider often bills several euros per megabyte. Our guide on avoiding roaming charges explains how to dodge the trap. An eSIM is the simplest fix: price known up front, ready to go on arrival.
Which plan?
- Marrakesh city break (3–5 days): 3–5 GB
- Round trip (1–2 weeks): 10 GB
- Long stay / heavy user: 20 GB or daily packages
The plan finder suggests the right data for your trip length.
Network coverage
Stable 4G in Marrakesh, Casablanca, Rabat, Fès and the coastal cities. In the Sahara and remote Atlas mountain areas coverage can vary – download maps offline in advance.
Getting started
Check the activation policy in the plan details before buying. Depending on the plan, validity starts at purchase, on installation or on the first connection to a supported network. Install the profile over reliable Wi-Fi at the time recommended for your plan.

Plan checklist for Morocco
Do not compare price alone. The package should cover the whole trip and match the way you use data:
- Validity begins at the right time
- Allowance includes roughly 20 percent headroom
- 4G/5G and available partner networks are described clearly
- Hotspot is permitted when sharing with a laptop or companion
- A top-up or replacement package is available if use increases
Longer coverage gaps can occur between cities, the Atlas and desert areas. Download routes, translations and booking details before travelling remotely.
Small or large allowance?
For maps, messaging and occasional searches, 5–10 GB often covers one week. Regular video, cloud photos, video calls or tethering point towards 20 GB or an unlimited plan. Always read “unlimited” together with daily high-speed limits and fair use. The travel data guide helps calculate an allowance.
Morocco eSIM FAQ
Does the travel eSIM include a phone number? Many offers are data-only. Keep the familiar number active on the home SIM while messaging apps use the eSIM connection.

What if it shows no service? Check the selected data line, roaming instructions, automatic network selection and APN. Do not delete the profile too quickly because QR codes are often single-use.
