Installing an eSIM on iPhone
- Open the email with your QR code (or your mySIM24 account).
- Tap "Install on iPhone" for one-tap setup – or go to Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM and scan the QR code.
- Done. The eSIM activates automatically at your destination.
Installing an eSIM on Android
- Go to Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM.
- Scan the QR code from your order confirmation.
- Enable data roaming for the eSIM profile.
Tip: install before you travel
Install the eSIM over Wi-Fi before departure. Data usage only starts once you connect to the network at your destination. Device not working with the QR code? Use manual entry (SM-DP+ address + activation code) from your account.
Before installation
Confirm that the device supports eSIM, is carrier-unlocked and has reliable Wi-Fi. Keep the QR code and manual SM-DP+ details available. QR codes are often single-use, so do not delete a successfully added profile while troubleshooting.
Dual-SIM settings
Give each line a clear name such as "Home" and "Travel". Select the travel eSIM for mobile data and disable automatic data switching. The home SIM can remain active for texts, but its data roaming should be off outside your domestic allowance.
After landing
Turn on the travel line. Enable roaming on that profile when the plan instructions require it. If it does not connect:
- Toggle airplane mode for 20 seconds.
- Check mobile data and the selected data line.
- Leave network selection on automatic first.
- Restart the device.
- Enter an APN only when supplied with the order.
Common errors
"Code no longer valid" often means the profile was already installed. "No service" before the trip is normal when the destination network is out of range. For slow data, check signal, usage and fair-use limits.
Use the device compatibility checker or see the detailed iPhone eSIM guide.
Install without a second screen
If the QR code is stored on the same phone, recent systems may open it directly from Mail or Photos. Otherwise display it on a laptop, tablet or printout. You can also enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code manually. These values belong together and should contain no extra spaces.
Transfer or change phones
A travel eSIM cannot automatically be copied like a photo. Some providers permit a transfer, while others bind the profile to its first installation. Check the terms before resetting the old phone and retain order and support details until the trip is complete.
Quick checklist
- Check EID and carrier lock before buying
- Never share the QR code publicly
- Give the profile a clear label
- Keep home-SIM data roaming off
- Note validity start and APN details
