eSIM for Greece
Greece with its islands Crete, Rhodes, Kos or Santorini is a dream destination – and with a mySIM24 eSIM you stay online affordably everywhere, for maps, ferry tickets and messengers.
Use a Europe plan
Greece is part of the EU – a Europe eSIM covers the whole country plus over 30 more. Ideal if you combine several Mediterranean destinations.
Which plan?
- Island hopping (1–2 weeks): 10–20 GB
- Beach holiday (1 week): 5–10 GB
- Athens city break: 3–5 GB
Network coverage
There is good 4G on the mainland and the larger islands. In very remote coves or on small islands the signal can vary.

Island hopping and ferries
Connection is not guaranteed at sea. Download ferry tickets, accommodation addresses and maps before sailing. Avoid expensive onboard maritime networks; mobile data can remain off during longer crossings.
Coverage
Athens, Thessaloniki, Crete, Rhodes and major islands are generally well served in populated areas. Small islands, mountains and remote beaches may have weaker reception.
Check EU roaming
Greece is in the EU. Compare your existing roaming allowance with an additional country or Europe eSIM. A separate plan helps with a small home allowance, a longer trip or several countries.
Data allowance
One week often needs 5–10 GB; two weeks of island hopping may need 10–20 GB. Offline maps reduce usage and help in dead zones.
Check the activation policy in the plan details before buying. Depending on the plan, validity starts at purchase, on installation or on the first connection to a supported network. Install the profile over reliable Wi-Fi at the time recommended for your plan.

Plan checklist for Greece
Do not compare price alone. The package should cover the whole trip and match the way you use data:
- Validity begins at the right time
- Allowance includes roughly 20 percent headroom
- 4G/5G and available partner networks are described clearly
- Hotspot is permitted when sharing with a laptop or companion
- A top-up or replacement package is available if use increases
Digital ferry tickets and accommodation messages are especially important on island routes. Download documents before sailing and do not rely exclusively on reception at sea.
Small or large allowance?
For maps, messaging and occasional searches, 5–10 GB often covers one week. Regular video, cloud photos, video calls or tethering point towards 20 GB or an unlimited plan. Always read “unlimited” together with daily high-speed limits and fair use. The travel data guide helps calculate an allowance.
Greece eSIM FAQ
Does the travel eSIM include a phone number? Many offers are data-only. Keep the familiar number active on the home SIM while messaging apps use the eSIM connection.
Check the activation policy in the plan details before buying. Depending on the plan, validity starts at purchase, on installation or on the first connection to a supported network. Install the profile over reliable Wi-Fi at the time recommended for your plan.
What if it shows no service? Check the selected data line, roaming instructions, automatic network selection and APN. Do not delete the profile too quickly because QR codes are often single-use.
