eSIM not working: No internet or no network?

If your travel eSIM is not working, first check whether it is installed and selected as the data line. Then distinguish between “no network” and “network available but no internet”. The FAQ explains the plan terms; the following steps help narrow down the cause.
Before changing settings
If possible, connect to trusted Wi-Fi and open your order. Check the destination, validity period, available data allowance and activation start. Some plans start upon purchase, others upon installation or first connection to a supported network. An installed profile outside its coverage area may not receive a network signal yet.
If you can already see the eSIM in the SIM settings, do not delete it. Depending on the provider, a QR code can only be installed once. Support may be required for recovery. You do not need a factory reset for this initial check either.
1. The profile is completely missing
Check the exact model, including sales region and SIM lock, using the compatibility check. Open the installation details in your order and follow the installation guide. If a QR code is not recognised, the QR code guide can help.
Only use manual SM-DP+ details if they were provided for your eSIM. A “already used” message does not automatically mean that you need to buy a new plan: first look for an existing profile on the intended device.
2. The eSIM shows “No Service”
Check whether the travel line is switched on and aeroplane mode is switched off. You must be in an included country; a country name in the plan name does not replace the specific coverage list. First try registering on the network with automatic network selection. Briefly turning aeroplane mode on and off, or restarting the device, can trigger a new registration attempt.
If the issue persists, move to another location if possible. Buildings, terrain and network congestion can affect the connection. Select a network manually only if it is supported according to the plan or support. A list of visible networks is not a list of permitted partner networks.
3. There is signal, but no website loads
Explicitly select the travel eSIM for mobile data. Enable data roaming for it according to the installation instructions, and keep data roaming switched off for your home SIM. Disable automatic data-line switching so that a connection issue does not silently use your home plan.
Then check the data limit and expiry date. A data limit you set yourself on Android can also stop the connection. Compare APN settings only with the provider details supplied; do not make up an APN. Test a simple website and a second app. If only one app does not work, the cause may be that app’s settings or service.
4. The connection is only slow
Slow internet can be caused by weak signal, network congestion or plan-based speed throttling. Especially with unlimited plans, check the high-speed and fair-use policy. 5G is not available everywhere or with every device. The absence of a 5G symbol alone does not prove a fault.
When can support help?
If these steps do not help, use the contact form and describe the country, location, device model, error message and settings already checked. Send the order reference only through protected support contact. QR codes, activation codes and payment details do not belong in public posts.
Frequently asked questions
Should I reinstall the eSIM? Only after consulting support, if reinstallation has been confirmed for this profile.
Can I test it at home? Installation and a Wi-Fi check are possible if the activation rule allows it. A mobile network connection requires an included country and network.
Will a larger plan help with “No Service”? Not automatically. First clarify the profile, coverage and network registration; additional data does not fix a lack of mobile coverage.
